Premium Pine 42mm X 19mm Vertical Batten Screens
These are our premium LOSP pine vertical batten screens and unlike traditional treated pine this product is better for two important reasons.
1. Because the material is clear it means there are no defects or knots in the timber, these are the knots that in pine tend to break off and snap.
2. Because the material is finger-jointed meaning it comprises of small 300mm or less pieces that are joined together with high strength glue. This ensures that the material stays straighter over longer distances and isn’t prone to bending and twisting like it would as a solid piece. Also as part of the finger joining process the material is first Kiln Dried which
reduces the moisture content of the material further preventing movement in the timber
Generally most customers are wanting to paint over these screens as working with the finger jointed pine option is a great way of getting this batten screen look at a reduced price especially when painting there is no point in paying for a premium hardwood then painting over it.
The profile uses 19mm battens on edge with 16mm spacing. We believe this is the best aesthetically pleasing profile with visibility only when you are looking front on when you look at the screening at more than a 20 degree angle you notice there is no transparency because of the depth of the profile. All of our screw fixings are done from the back so no screws are visible from the front making for a cleaner finish. The backing supports 42mm X 19mm are also positioned no more than 600mm apart to prevent any twisting.
This product is most commonly used for external use, front fences, back yard screening, carports, pool screening.
