These are our Spotted gum vertical batten screens made from 42mm X 32mm Spotted gum battens. Spotted gum is a class 1 Australian hardwood set to last over 40 years above ground. It is sourced from NSW and QLD. The complexion spotted gum provides is quite a popular one with tones of red mixed with light brown and also Grey so it provides that natural timber vibrant feel! It has a lot of UV resistant properties inherent in the actual timber meaning it fades at a slower rate over time when left out in the sun relative to other timbers like Merbau etc.
We recommend staining over the Spotted gum to help seal the timber for added protection and so it maintains its color over time. We recommend Cutek timber oil as an oil-based stain recommended application once every year depending on variables.
The profile uses 32mm battens on edge with 20mm spacing between battens. We believe this is the best aesthetically pleasing profile with visibility only when you are looking front on when you look at the screening at more than a 20 degree angle you notice there is no transparency because of the depth of the profile. All of our screw fixings are done from the back so no screws are visible from the front making for a cleaner finish. The backing supports 42mm X 19mm are also positioned no more than 600mm apart to prevent any twisting.
This product is most commonly used for external use, front fences, back yard screening, carports, pool screening.
