2400 X 900 Heavy Duty flat fence extensions are one of our most popular styles for pool compliancy because of their design, which appeases even the most strict pool inspectors. They are a specialized product as 900mm high extensions can’t usually be found in retail outlets. This size is not as common as 500 or 600mm high extensions but is great for those wanting a higher fence line.
We do advise caution when purchasing these panels especially if they are being placed on a fence line that is exposed to strong winds. The panels don’t allow the wind to pass through them so it is imperative that they are installed properly. Unless you are using these panels for pool compliancy we would recommend using our 2400 X 900 Heavy duty woven fence extensions because they allow the wind to pass through them.
You should also keep in mind that over time the palings will slightly shrink this will create small gaps in between the slats allowing a very minor amount of visibility. This won’t be an issue for pool compliancy as the gaps will only be a few millimeters but it might be an issue if you are after an extension that is totally blocked out. If this is what you are after you should look at our hardwood corral fence extensions or heavy duty woven fence extensions.

Product specifications
This product is made from 100mm X 12mm palings similar to what is used for paling fences.
The short leg is approx. 1040mm. This sits on the post/rail side of the fence.
The long leg is approx. 1800mm. This sits on the paling side of the fence.
The dimensions of the leg are 70mm wide by 25mm thick.
The gap between the legs is approx. 30mm, this gives you ample room to fit the extension on top of a normal paling fence. If you have a colorbond fence please email us directly and let us know the width of the colorbond at the top of the fence and we will make custom panels to suit.
*If you have capping on your fence the panels will be made with different sized legs. One will be cut flush so it sits on the capping and the other leg will be 1800mm so that you can screw into your top and middle rails.
Our 2400mm X 500mm and 2400mm X 600mm heavy duty flat and woven fence extensions are our most popular sizes so these we try to keep stock of both options please contact us for exact stock levels as they vary.
The smaller 2400mm X 300mm and 2400mm X 400mm options are generally made to order within a week from time of payment same as the 2400mm X 700mm option.
The 2400mm X 900mm option can take a little longer generally within 1-2 weeks from time of order pending timber availability. If you have capping on your fence the extensions you choose will need to be made custom and should generally be completed within a week.
We freight all of our extensions interstate. Please note, for interstate customers, our fence extensions will not be legged to avoid damage during transit. The legs will be delivered and bundled separately.

Fence extensions are relatively easy to install
The panels slip over the palings with the short leg going on the rail side and the long leg going on the paling side.
The fence extensions will generally straddle the posts unless they are exposed at the top of the fence.
If you have capping on your fence it is easiest to install from the rail side of the fence if possible, as usually the rails will be flush with the capping. If installing from the paling side you will need to position timber chocks behind the long leg before screwing into the palings and through to the rail on the other side.
We recommend 75mm galvanized chipboard screws for normal paling fences, as these are sufficient to screw through the leg into the palings and through to the rail on the other side. We do sell these.
