Description

These Horizontal 2400 X 580mm mixed hardwood fence extensions will be:

  • Pool compliant
  • relatively blocked out helping ensure adequate privacy and security from neighbors and strangers
  • a modern design of screening off the top of your fence

These fence extensions are constructed with 35 X 9 mm mixed hardwood slats. The slats are graded to maximize the quality and durability of the panels.

The panels will still last without staining but coating the timber will improve its durability.

*This design of extension has two sides as shown in the photos. This means we will either have two long legs at 900mm each and you can cut down the legs based on if you have the rails or paling side. Alternatively we can have a short leg and a long leg if we are told which side the rail side is on and which side you want the good side of the panel to be facing.

For example if you have the posts and rails on your side of the property and want to be looking at the good side of the panel we will attach the short leg on the front of the panel. Likewise if you have the paling side of the fence and want to see the good side of the panel the long leg will be placed on the front.

Product Specifications

The panels are made from 35 X 9mm mixed hardwood slats.

The gap between the slats is approx.. 6mm making the extensions pool compliant

The legs are 45mm wide and 20mm thick made from treated pine

The short leg will be 720mm or 900mm. This sits on the rail side of the fence.

The long leg will be 900mm. This sits on the paling side of the fence

Price/Availability

These hardwood extensions are an imported product. The table below giving a rough indication of lead time is applicable only if we have panels in stock and just need to leg them.

Installation

Fence extensions are relatively easy to install

The panels slip over the palings with the short leg going on the rail side and the long leg going on the paling side.

The fence extensions will generally straddle the posts unless they are exposed at the top of the fence.

If you have capping on your fence it is easiest to install from the rail side of the fence if possible, as usually the rails will be flush with the capping. If installing from the paling side you will need to position timber chocks behind the long leg before screwing into the palings and through to the rail on the other side.

We recommend 75mm galvanized chipboard screws for normal paling fences, as these are sufficient to screw through the leg into the palings and through to the rail on the other side. We do sell these.

$5 for 15 screws (enough for installing 5 panels)

$10 for 30 screws (enough for installing 10 panels)

$20 for 60 screws (enough for installing 20 panels)

We are only offering a basic installation service, if your fence line is sloping and you are wanting the extensions to be altered onsite before being put up we would recommend using a tradesmen instead.

If it is a job that we are unable to assist you with we will recommend a tradesmen that is more suited to the job.
