These hardwood screens are made from 42 X 16 mm Acacia Mangium hardwood slats. The panels are double stapled from the back and single stapled from the front in each join. They have approx. 12mm gaps between slats.
Recommendation
These are the most well priced hardwood screens that you will find in Melbourne. The thick 16mm slats ensure more than adequate durability and the complexion of the timber is rich in colour. There are minor colour variations in the timber but these are mostly not noticeable. The screens can be left raw in this natural colour or they can be stained. Staining will improve the durability of the screen as well as the colour consistency. This is a durable hardwood that is well priced and looks great.
Applications
This profile of hardwood screen is commonly used when creating feature walls or new fence lines. They are great for front fences, or covering existing old paling fences. They can be installed in front of, or directly onto existing fences and raised up to extend the height of the fence.
When creating a feature wall these panels are commonly used running horizontally with decking strips between the panels to hide the joins. Alternate uses include having one panel running horizontal and the next one running vertical or having a horizontal panel and then a decorative panel and continuing this pattern for the length of the fence. By incorporating differently designed panels in the one feature wall it provides more of a profound and noticeable appearance.
